When Ren and his mother move from Chicago to a small farming town, he is prepared for the inevitable adjustment period at his new high school. But he’s not prepared for the rigorous local edicts, including a ban on dancing instituted by the local preacher, who is determined to exercise control over the town’s youth. When the reverend’s rebellious daughter sets her sights on Ren, her roughneck boyfriend tries to sabotage Ren’s reputation, with many of the locals eager to believe the worst about the new kid. The heartfelt story that emerges pins a father longing for the son he lost against a young man aching for the father who walked out on him.

Rehearsal Calendar:
We expect that all members of the cast and crew make it to their assigned rehearsals and workshop times. We understand however that life happens. Please review this calendar ahead of submitting for an audition. Please complete the audition packet found in Google Classroom and bring the required print out forms to Mr. Barrett in Room 166 by 11/8/2024. If Mr. Barrett is not in his office, please slide forms under door. Please note that some of these forms are digital and some are print and return. We ask all participants of our show to pay a small production fee to offset the cost of T-Shirts, Tech Week Meals, Sets, Costumes, and More. Production Fees can be paid at the link below or by bringing a check into school and dropping it off to Mr. Barrett in Room 166. If you do a check, please complete the check form below. This year the Production Fee is $60.00. (If you need a LHS Drama Club Shirt the Production Fee is $75.00 this allows us to have the playbill photos in color.)
